Kal Gully an american rapper, producer, and songwriter from the West Side of Chicago.....but don't expect to hear any "Drill" music from this Illinois native. Whether conscious rapping, or full-time trapping, his deep, slightly raspy, melodic voice mesmerizes and transports his listeners to the heart of the emotion in each verse. More often than not, his stories are bird's eye view, laced with calculated metaphors and sprinkled with witty wordplay. With over 200 songs under his belt, Kal Gully is here to show us that he is not just a musician-he's a certiFIed musicologist. To date, Kal has completed 7 albums, 4 mixtapes, as well as notable singles "pOWER" (2020), fXCKN UP FT. CLASSIK MUSSIK (2017), and trap anthem "Custos"(2016). Along with terrestrial and internet rotation, his music also earned placements in over 87 blogs in 2019 alone.
Gully started beatboxing on the West Side of Chicago in high school, but he didn’t get into music seriously until after his last mandatory vacation in 2007. Upon his release, Kal and his cousins Cockey Guns, Cool Boy & Hussein started the group F.T. - Family Thang. Kal began writing the hooks and lyrics for F.T. and performing with the group around the city, where he quickly realized he had a true passion and talent for storytelling.
Kal was required to FIND A job by his probation,
and as luck would have it, it was his manager Casso who would introduce him to his future producer, videographer Monte. From the FIrst time they met, Kal and Monte had great creative chemistry, and Monte went on to produce the FIrst oFFIcial F.T. OR FAMILY THANG project, 'The Coalition: Volume 1', as well as Gully's FIrst solo project, 'Gully As Ever'. Both projects received significant positive feedback, and are still being played in various locations throughout the West Side of Chicago. The duo has remained consistent over the years, and although he did not produce Gully's latest project, Monte is responsible for a significant amount of the visuals.
Violence in Chicago began to escalate at a rapid rate, and Kal's mother pleads with him to leave the area, so he decided to make the move to Texas.
Since his arrival in the Lone Star State, Kal has seen nothing but success. He put in work from the moment his plane touched down, selling CDs at every gas station in the metroplex. His perseverance paid o, and he met Fort Worth Producer Yung Feddi. Feddi noticed his talent right away and immediately brought him into his professional circle, introducing him to many of the major players and DJs in the Metroplex. Yung Feddi began making beats for Kal, and several hits later, they are still working on new things.
Kal linked up with his manager, Heidi J, by chance at an event she attended with one of her previous artists. The two exchanged information, and an unfortunate event sent her to his studio to record a personal song.
The two worked very well together from the beginning, and she began listening to and promoting his music. With her degree in Business, his natural musical genius, and both party's love of music, it didn't take long for the duo to realize they needed a professional partnership, and Heidi J began to manage his career. In 2014, the dynamic duo began ghostwriting for various artists, and their company 773D Music was born.
Although Kal has been blessed to travel across the country, as an artist, and perform with some of his idols in the industry, his inner creator is not quite satisFIed, so he has also been producing beats for some of the artists he meets along the way. Kal has a natural musical ability, so his production is also impeccable, and he has had success selling his beats nationwide.
